Football - NFL Week 8, CFB Week 9
In a less-than-full home stadium, Florida State (4-4) squeaked out another win, this time against NC State; they are next at Clemson. Nebraska (5-3) and freshman QB Cody Green came to Baylor and got a solid win, 20-10, and are a win away from bowl eligibility; next up, Oklahoma! Oklahoma! Oklahoma! Without star receiver Eric Decker, Minnesota (5-4) still beat Michigan State at home and are also one win away from bowl eligibility; next up: 2-6 Illinois. TCU (8-0) shut out UNLV at homecoming (didn’t go) but remained at #6 in the BCS despite #5 USC’s loss; it’s ok though because they are still the highest ranked at-large team, so they’d be guaranteed a BCS spot if the season ended today. Next up, weak San Diego State.
The Vikings went to Lambeau and took down the Packers in Brett Favre’s return to Green Bay. The boos were loud and were still audible deep into the game whenever Favre was on the field. They are 7-1 and lead the NFC North by 2.5 games. This week is the Vikings’ bye week and then they host 1-6 Detroit.
