Vikings of course have Mr. Favre at QB, Adrian Peterson, and other offensive weapons along with the Williamses leading the #1 run defense from last year; they are 2-0 in the preseason and open the regular season Sept 3 at the Browns. Three of my four college teams start the year ranked! TCU is the highest at #17 (AP poll) and starts Sept 12 at Virginia; the Frogs are expected to fight #19 Utah (Nov 14 at home) and #20 BYU (Oct 24 away) again for the MWC title. #18 Florida State opens against rival Miami at home on Sept 7 and expects to compete for the ACC title again, amid the possibility of losing past years’ victories due to education violations. #24 Nebraska opens against FL Atlantic on Sept 5 under second-year coach Bo Pelini and is favored to win the Big 12 North. The Minnesota Gophers are unranked but have an awesome new stadium on campus; they open at Syracuse at Sept 5.
