Tice out: Vikings fire head coach
After the Vikings beat division champion Chicago in Minnesota, 34-10, Vikes owner Zygi Wilf fired head coach Mike Tice. He’d been the coach since the last game of the 2001 season and compiled a 32-33 overall record, going to the playoffs once. The 2003 and 2004 seasons started 6-0 and 5-1, respectively, and both fell apart, finishing 9-7 and 8-8. This year started 2-5 and finished 7-2. In my opinion, he never knew what he was doing anyway, and any success was purely coincidental! I wonder if the Vikes will hire another fired coach or promote from within. I hope the former…
